A new brand of jeans has come out of Italy and they are known as Al Quds Jeans. The label is targeting the huge Muslim population that is residing in Europe.
Their market research was done so as to make the jeans as comfortable as possible for men and women to wear in the daily acitivities, since praying 5 times a day is central to a Muslim they wanted to make sure that they were comfortable for praying in as well.
“As far as we know we’re the first, at least in Italy,” said Luca Corradi, who designed Al Quds jeans.
The bagginess is to ensure the wearer avoids stiffness while bending down repeatedly during prayers. The pockets are for holding all the accessories Muslims have to take off while they worship. And the jeans have green seams _ because green is the sacred color of Islam.
This line is therefore serious, looked for with discretion, natural elegant and not ostentatious. This is reflected in the care and attention to detail, from the denim material to the design which offers the comfort necessary for everyday wear.
Al Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem so far it has produced an initial 9,500 pairs that it sold to the French retailer Carrefour SA, the price would be around $30 a pair.
