InStyle magazine have labelled it ‘the Space NK for jeans,’ it is totally genius!

Customers can choose from an array of styles, cuts and washes across a variety of these brands. How many styles of jeans do you think there are? I’ve owned many varieties over the years, usually sticking with the tried and tested “straight leg” fit. I’ve also worn flare, bootcut and skinny. Never too much a fan of the cropped styles though.

Some of you may like to stick to one particular style because it fits your body type well. Which is fine, but with the immense variety of denim companies out there each one has a different take on their type of “Flare”, or a different pattern for a “Wide-Leg”.

So go ahead, experiment a bit, and try out different brands till you find one that has the right pattern for your body type.

Well, if you have watched them deteriorate over the years and want to see them back in their original shape again then Denim Therapy is the answer for you them.

They say this about their service -

Our unique repair technique is a genuine reconstruction of the original denim material. It is new cotton thread and stitch applied to the damaged area.

The average cost is around $7 an inch, so if that knee slash is getting a way to big and you want to close it up so you can start all over again {yay!} then try their service out. Their customers seem to be a happy lot, so it can only be good! Right?

Blogs, web publications, online newspaper sites, trade magazines and everyone else in between scurry to post the latest snap of a “hot” or “in” celebrity and identify the jeans they’re wearing. It’s like a never ending Oscar parade!

The most popular no doubt seem to be Page Premium Denim and Seven Jeans.

I have seen a few brands that have just fallen of radar because they have not been able to keep their PR profile high enough. Sometimes though it is also because the denim itself doesn’t live up to the hype. After all, it still has to look good on YOU!

Jeans are naturally the most versatile of clothing today and with the constant advancements in design, fabric and fit it doesn’t seem like it will stop anytime soon.

For me it doesn’t matter who wears them, it just matters if it feels good to me or not. I’m a guy so I could care less if Brad Pitt is wearing Levi’s or Lee – I’ll still buy a no name brand and wear it for the next 6 months straight! I will take it off to wash though, bad smelling jeans are just…ugh!

Not much information was given to me about them in their email so I’ll just write on what I see from their website. denimaddikt.com

So far only collections of womens jeans are shown. With names such as Heroin Chic, Fanatic, Addiktion, Fiend, Excess, Idol, Prestige & Binge it’s anyone’s guess that the jeans will definitely create some sort of buzz around them just based on the names alone. “Joey” and “Johnny” just don’t cut it anymore.

Let’s start with the Heroin Jeas shall we, which is a skinny cut in various washes -

Fiend – It’s tapered at the knee with a slight flare going down. I’m not a huge fan of the crinkled looking fades around the entire jean. I’d have to see them in person to make a better judgment though.

Addiktion – Probably the main style of the brand. It has some interesting detail at the back of the hem. I think I like these the best from the lot.

Prestige & Binge – You can’t be a denim line and not sell a pair of denim shorts. What would Britney do? Actually, don’t answer that question. I like the Binge style though, not the Prestige. The Prestige look like denim bloomers.

Luis Pedroza is the man behind the label and brings a variety of cultures with him, being of Japenese, Chinese and Mexican heritage himself. His company, Takumi, was created in 2006. Their main focus now is on luxury shirts and jeans. Of course being obsessed with jeans we took a look at them.

All the denim they use is made on traditional old style shuttle looms, which give a unique feel to the denim being woven. The classic cut has a low rise, straight leg in a regular fit. The vintage cut has a higher rise, straight leg with an easy fit. Both styles come in indigo and black colors. Have a look at the images below.

The launch was on Thursday 14th June and was frenzied with photographers hoping to catch a glimpse of Victoria. The jeans are selling for around $250 and have a large star stitched on the back pockets as a trademark signature.

Victoria and David Beckham are moving to the U.S as Beckham’s contract is expiring with Real Madrid, the Spanish football club, and he will now be playing for the L.A Galaxy.

The collection comprises denim pants, skirts and shorts. She already has a collection of eyewear, fragrances and an exclusive line of jewelry that is only available in Japan.

Evisu Jeans is a very well established jeans company. They use vintage looms to produce their denim and as little modern machinery as possible. The famous stylized gull on the back pockets is the trademark of the company.

Started in Japan in 1988 by Hidehiko Yamane the brand is well known today for being one of a kind and expensive as well with one pair of jeans going as much as $400+.

But this style that I chanced upon is something that I’ve never seen before and definitely one of a kind, the Evisu Bondage Jeans.

You can still buy them on amazon and they are made of dark rinsed selvedge denim, with red embroidered logos on pocket. Featuring calf & thigh zips on back of jeans for adjustable leg width and a black fabric badge on the waistband. Of course how can you not see the straps hanging down on the back and trailing behind you as you strut down the sidewalk.

Sometimes I think fashion goes a bit too far for the sake of fashion itself.
