Yves Saint Laurent passed away on the 1st of June, 2008. He left behind a legacy that will hard to fill by anyone. Known for his many contributions to the world of fashion as we know it today.
Christie’s is going to be auctioning seven pieces of the fashion designer’s clothing and jewelry representing his career.
“What’s exciting about the collection is that you see the progression of his career. He was a real style-setter,” said Christie’s couture specialist Laura Leyfer.
All of the items are in excellent condition and are relatively inexpensive because they aren’t new designs and have been worn.
The chief designer of the YSL brand today is Stefano Pilati. I remember the days it used to be in the hands of Tom Ford and all the media frenzy he would cause with his collections. I haven’t been hearing much about the brand lately, maybe also because I’ve just not paid attention to the fashion scene much lately.
I think the timelessness of Yves’s creations will see the fashion house live on for many many years to come.
