I remember the early days of my fashion career, right out of college, sending out hundreds of resumes all over the place. Some responded with a “thank you” and “we’ll keep you on file”. Most didn’t. Almost all didn’t give a chance for an interview.
Which speaks volumes for the fashion industry, basically it is very hard to get into. I’ve been there and done that. When I found out about FashionSpace I wished this was around when I graduated.
“Our core is to try to help young designers break into the market&we’re looking at the tools to get them more sales,” Holly Bellm said.
23-year-old London fashion graduate Holly Bellm started FashionSpace last October and it is fast becoming to fashionistas what MySpace is to amateur musicians, with 20,000 members in 120 countries frequenting the site every day.
That’s an amazing initiative by Holly. If you are a new graduate or still studying fashion then make sure you bookmark this site and use it to start your career. You never know what could happen.
