On August 25th, a delegation led by Feng Zhenyu, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited (HKNAM), visited the GCL Energy Center. They held in-depth discussions with Zhu Gongshan, Chairman of GCL Group, focusing on topics including the research and development (R&D) of low-carbon material technologies and innovation.

Feng Zhenyu spoke highly of GCL Group’s accumulated R&D capabilities and achievements in building commercial application scenarios across emerging fields such as silicon materials, carbon materials, lithium materials, and semiconductor materials. He stated that GCL’s innovative breakthroughs in the field of new energy high-tech materials fully demonstrate the enterprise’s persistent pursuit of core technologies and strong industrialization capabilities, setting a benchmark for the industry. Feng Zhenyu noted that HKNAM possesses significant core technological advantages and rich experience in commercial operation across five key sectors: construction, electronics, energy, environmental protection, and healthcare. Particularly in technology directions such as low-carbon materials and functional polymer materials, HKNAM has accumulated extensive R&D experience and technical reserves. Given GCL’s prominent advantages in industrial layout and market resources within these fields, there is broad room for cooperation between the two parties.

Zhu Gongshan extended a warm welcome to Feng Zhenyu and his delegation. He emphasized that GCL has always been driven by technology to advance the green energy revolution, and has continued to deepen its efforts in cutting-edge fields such as carbon materials, lithium materials, and silicon materials—with breakthrough progress achieved especially in the field of carbon nanotubes. Currently, the Group has established a complete chain from core technology R&D to industrial application. Its related technologies not only reach industry-leading levels in performance, but also achieve key breakthroughs in reducing production costs and improving product stability, providing solid support for promoting the high-quality development of the new energy and new materials industries. Zhu Gongshan expressed that GCL has always pursued an open ecosystem featuring global layout and international cooperation. It looks forward to joining hands with world-class scientific research institutions to jointly tackle key technological challenges in the industry, accelerate the market-oriented development and commercial operation of advanced materials, and achieve win-win cooperation.

On the same day, Feng Zhenyu and his delegation also visited the Future Energy Pavilion. Participants in the symposium included Jiang Weiming, Director of the Investment Promotion Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park; Bai Xinyu, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Suzhou Industrial Park; Shen Wenlong, Chief Business Officer of HKNAM; Huo Zhongxian, Senior Business Development Manager of HKNAM; Feng Haiyao, Business Development Manager of HKNAM; Chen Fei, Vice President of GCL Group; Zhang Jieqing, Executive Dean of the Central Research Institute of GCL Group; and Song Weining, General Manager of Jiangsu Green Carbon Nanotechnology Co., Ltd.
